SSC exams to begin January 7, 2027; HSC starts June 6

Bangladesh has announced the schedule for the 2027 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, setting the SSC exams to begin on January 7, 2027, and the HSC exams on June 6, 2027.

The SSC and equivalent examinations will run until February 6, 2027, while the HSC and equivalent exams are scheduled to continue until July 13, 2027.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milan announced the dates on Thursday during a press briefing at the Ministry of Education in Dhaka.

He said the government had initially considered completing all examinations by December to reduce academic session delays, but the final schedule was set following consultations with relevant stakeholders.

The minister said the timetable was designed to ensure students get adequate preparation time and to maintain exam discipline. He also warned of strict monitoring to prevent question paper leaks and ensure smooth conduct of the examinations.

Authorities have instructed education boards to take necessary preparations to ensure timely publication of results.
