Education Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon on Monday said educational and knowledge exchange with Pakistan would be positive for Bangladesh, expressing support for stronger academic cooperation between the two countries.
He made the remarks at the inauguration of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Exchange Corridor and Education Expo 2026, held at a five-star hotel in the capital.
“The arrangement of education fairs and academic exchange with Pakistan is something I support. It will be very beneficial for us,” the minister said.
He noted that Bangladesh currently has 116 universities, with several more in the process of being established, adding that 57 of them are operating effectively.
Milon said Pakistani universities would offer admission opportunities to qualified Bangladeshi students through examinations and encouraged students to pursue higher education in Pakistan.

Speaking at the event, Imran Haider said the Pakistan-Bangladesh Education Expo would be held over the next 10 days not only in Dhaka but also in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Sylhet, and Chattogram.
He said the initiative would create opportunities for educational, cultural, and knowledge exchange between the two countries and urged Bangladeshi universities to cooperate through memorandums of understanding to expand higher education and research opportunities for Bangladeshi students in Pakistan.
