Schools, colleges to reopen on June 7 after Eid break

Schools and colleges across Bangladesh will reopen on June 7 after the Eid-ul-Azha and summer holidays, bringing millions of students back to classrooms following a break of more than two weeks.
According to the 2026 academic calendar issued by the education authorities, the Eid and summer vacation began on May 24 and officially ends on June 4. With weekly holidays on June 5 and 6, classes will resume on June 7 at government and private primary schools, secondary schools, and technical education institutions.
Students at the primary, secondary, and technical levels have enjoyed nearly 16 consecutive days off, including weekends.
Madrasas, however, will remain closed until June 11. After the weekly holidays on June 12 and 13, classes at Alia, Dakhil, Alim, Fazil, and Kamil institutions will resume on June 14.

Education officials also noted that several public holidays are scheduled for July and August, resulting in additional closures for educational institutions later in the year.
