CHT Affairs Minister Dipen Dewan resigns

Dipen Dewan, minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and lawmaker for Rangamati Hill District, has resigned from his ministerial position citing physical illness.
According to sources, he officially submitted his resignation letter to the prime minister on Monday.
The minister has signed the letter and formally requested the prime minister to accept his resignation. However, Dewan has not yet made any official public statement regarding this decision.
In his resignation letter, Dewan said that he has been suffering from various physical complications since assuming his responsibilities.

He said that his illness has led to various difficulties in properly carrying out the regular activities of the ministry.
Dewan further expressed that it is no longer possible for him to continue in this role while maintaining the dynamism of current government’s development and administrative efforts. He deemed it appropriate to step down from his position.
