PM honors Ziaur Rahman on death anniversary

Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on Saturday paid tribute to BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman by placing a wreath and offering prayers at his grave in Dhaka.

Tarique Rahman visited Ziaur Rahman’s mausoleum at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar around 11:00 am, where he offered Fateha and laid a floral wreath in memory of the late president.

Senior BNP leaders were present during the tribute ceremony.

Afterward, the prime minister took part in a programme to distribute clothes and dry food among underprivileged people in different areas of the capital. The assistance was distributed at designated locations across all constituencies under Dhaka North and South City Corporations.

He is also scheduled to attend a food distribution programme for disadvantaged people in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan later in the day.

Various social welfare and humanitarian programmes are being observed nationwide by the party to mark the occasion.
