Three more children die with measles-like symptoms

Three more children have died with measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Monday, bringing the total death toll to 588 since March 15 this year.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified the latest fatalities as suspected cases.
With this, the total number of suspected measles-related deaths has reached 498, while confirmed deaths remain unchanged at 90.
A total of 1,134 suspected measles cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, raising the overall suspected caseload to 72,070.

During the same period, 45 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 9,094.
Since March 15, a total of 57,902 suspected measles patients have been hospitalised, of whom 53,722 have recovered, according to DGHS data.
