Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announced on Sunday that factories will be established along the coastal areas of Banshkhali in Chattogram to address the regional unemployment problem and generate economic opportunities for local residents.

Speaking at a relief distribution event for flood-affected families in Banshkhali, the Prime Minister highlighted the ocean as a crucial economic asset for the nation. He stated that developing industrial facilities along the coast would create widespread employment, providing a sustainable solution to unemployment in the region. He also urged citizens to stay vigilant against rumors and misinterpretation in order to uphold peace and public order across the area.

Prior to the event in Banshkhali, the Prime Minister visited Cox's Bazar to inspect development activities at the Matarbari Deep Sea Port, the coal-based power plant, and the Moheshkhali Integrated Development Authority (MIDA). Following his visit to Banshkhali, his schedule included a meeting with Shah Muhibbullah Babunagari at Al-Jamiyatul Islamiah Azizul Uloom Babunagari Madrasa in Fatikchhari, followed by a visit to pay respects at the grave of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi at Hathazari's Al-Jamiah Al-Ahlia Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Madrasa.
