Five killed, including child in Bhanga Expressway

Five people, including a child, were killed and two others injured after a private car crashed into the rear of a stationary gas-laden truck on the Dhaka–Bhanga Expressway in Faridpur early Tuesday, police and fire service officials said.
The accident occurred around 3:45 a.m. in the Maligram area of Bhanga Upazila. According to fire service officials, the private car, which was travelling from Dhaka to Jashore, struck a truck parked in the same lane of the expressway.
Two men and two women died at the scene, while three others, including a child, were injured. The victims were rescued by police and firefighters and taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex. The child later succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

Sub-Inspector Nur Alam of Shibchar Highway Police Station said the death toll had risen to five, including the driver of the private car. Authorities are working to identify the victims.
The mangled vehicle has been recovered, and legal proceedings are underway, police said.
