5 more children die of suspected Measles in 24 hours

Five more children have died from suspected measles across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, according to the latest data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.
A DGHS statement said 826 new suspected measles cases were recorded during the period, raising the total number of suspected infections nationwide to 67,905 since March 15.
The health authorities also confirmed 51 new measles cases through laboratory testing over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 8,885.

According to official figures, 54,182 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized since March 15, while 50,926 have recovered and been discharged. During the same period, 477 people died with suspected measles symptoms and 88 deaths were confirmed as measles-related.
