Health Minister warns of strict action against Ad-Din Hospital

Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain has said strict legal action will be taken against Ad-din Hospital following the investigation into the recent child death incident at the hospital.

Speaking to reporters after Eid prayers at the main Eidgah ground in Monohardi on Thursday morning, the minister said a probe committee had already been formed and instructed to submit its report within 72 hours.

Referring to the incident at the hospital’s child ward, he said preliminary information suggested that a request to switch off the air conditioning may have led to a possible gas leakage, resulting in the tragic deaths. He added that authorities took immediate action after learning about the matter.

The minister also said the government remains alert to prevent such incidents in the future and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to protect patients. On the measles situation, he claimed the outbreak is now under control, with sufficient vaccine supplies available across the country.
