Directives have been issued to deploy the army in six districts across the country to maintain law and order.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released the directive on Monday (June 22). The specified districts for deployment are Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gopalganj, Chittagong, Faridpur, and Gazipur.
According to relevant sources, the decision was made in anticipation of potential security and law-and-order challenges surrounding the upcoming founding anniversary of the Awami League on June 23. Deployed army personnel will remain on duty until June 30.

Intelligence reports suggest risks of unauthorized gatherings, rallies, or unrest in various locations linked to the anniversary. Consequently, the military will be active on the ground alongside the Police, RAB, and other law enforcement agencies.
Security forces have confirmed that all necessary measures have been implemented to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, security checkpoints and law enforcement operations have been intensified over the past few days in the capital and various district and upazila towns. Suspected individuals are being detained during these raids, while reports of sudden flash processions have also emerged from several areas.
