The Minister for Road Transport, Bridges, Shipping, and Railways, Sheikh Robiul Alam, stated, "It is a failure for the nation that the activities of a banned political party are still visible. However, I do not wish to make any comments regarding a banned party."

He made these remarks on Tuesday morning (June 23) while responding to questions from journalists after inaugurating the Bangladesh Railway Tree Plantation Program under the Dhaka-end viaduct of the rail bridge built over the Dhaleshwari River in the Char Galgalia area of Sirajdikhan Upazila, Munshiganj.

The Minister said, "A certain political party has been abandoned and rejected by the public today because it took a stand against public aspiration and public interest. The party was banned in the face of public demand. Banned means banned."

He further added, "The public rejected the party through a mass uprising. The legitimacy of a political party is granted by the people. Just as the people have rejected them now, the law has also banned them. Therefore, it is better not to speak about a banned subject."

Regarding solar power generation, Sheikh Robiul Alam mentioned that unutilized lands under various government ministries and agencies are being identified. Plans have been made to set up solar power projects by classifying these lands based on their total area.

He noted, "It is possible to produce about 1 megawatt of electricity on a land area of more than three acres. The electricity generated by installing solar panels in these places will not only meet local demand but will also be supplied to the national grid."

Munshiganj District Commissioner Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi, Superintendent of Police Md. Menhajul Alam, and other concerned officials were present at the event.
