Prime Minister Tarque Rahman will embark on a six-day official visit to Malaysia and China from June 21 to 26, with trade, investment, labour cooperation, and regional issues expected to dominate the agenda.
The prime minister will leave Dhaka for Kuala Lumpur on Sunday and conclude his Malaysia visit on June 22 before travelling directly to China, Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam said at a press briefing on Saturday. He said the visit is part of the government's ongoing diplomatic engagement with world leaders since taking office.
During his stay in Malaysia, Tarque Rahman is scheduled to hold a one-on-one meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, followed by bilateral talks between the two countries' high-level delegations. The discussions will focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, the halal economy, the semiconductor industry, agriculture, education, and connectivity.
