Speeding truck kills two women in Lalmonirhat

Two women were killed on Saturday when a speeding truck lost control and ran them over as they took their morning walks in the Fokirer Takeya Balapara area of Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila.

The accident occurred on the morning of October 10, as the two women were walking along the road in keeping with their daily routine. According to police, the truck careered out of control and struck them, killing both on the spot. Their identities had not been established immediately afterwards. The tragedy has left the local community deeply shaken, not least because the victims were merely following their customary morning routine.

Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saad Ahmed confirmed the incident, saying that police were at the scene. Moreover, he stated that the authorities were investigating the accident and would take appropriate legal action once the circumstances had been established. Nevertheless, it remained unclear whether the truck’s driver had been apprehended, and details of the vehicle involved had not yet been disclosed.
