Israel's ambassador to India has claimed that Bangladesh is among the countries where Israeli authorities are monitoring alleged Hamas-linked activities, saying concerns have grown since the Palestinian group's October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

In an interview with Indian broadcaster NDTV, Ambassador Reuven Azar said Israel has been closely observing what it describes as Hamas-related activities in Bangladesh and Pakistan since the October 2023 attack. He acknowledged that some of the information comes from publicly available sources, but suggested additional activities may not yet be publicly known. Azar also questioned Pakistan's role in regional diplomacy, saying Israel remains cautious about Islamabad's position, and criticized Qatar's role in regional affairs. He warned that other groups could view the October 7 attack as a model for future operations and said Israel has shared its security concerns with India. The ambassador's remarks reflect Israel's assessment and allegations; no evidence was presented during the interview to substantiate the claims, and there was no immediate response from Bangladeshi authorities.
