4 more children die as total death toll rises to 661

Four more children have died from measles and measles-related symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,077 new infections were reported, according to the latest update from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In its regular measles situation report published on Wednesday, the Directorate General of Health Services said 966 new suspected measles cases were identified during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected infections recorded since March 15 to 88,895.
The report also noted that 111 new cases were laboratory-confirmed during the same period. Since March 15, the cumulative number of confirmed measles cases has reached 10,634.
Health authorities said 73,277 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide since March 15. Of them, 69,688 have recovered and been discharged after receiving treatment.
The latest data show that the total number of deaths linked to suspected measles has risen to 568 children. While no deaths from confirmed measles were reported in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number of fatalities among confirmed cases stands at 93 since March 15.

Health officials continue to urge parents to ensure timely vaccination and seek medical attention immediately if children develop symptoms associated with measles.
