NCP unveils 100 candidates for upcoming local government election
The National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced the names of 100 candidates for the upcoming local government elections, covering various upazilas and municipalities across the country.
The names were unveiled on Sunday afternoon at a press conference held at the party’s temporary office by NCP Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam.
He said the party had received more than 1,000 applications for local government polls, from which 100 candidates were selected in the first phase.
Sarjis Alam added that another 100 candidates would be announced before Eid in the second phase, with the next list expected to be published by the 20th of this month.

He also said that not only current party members but also acceptable and hardworking leaders from other political parties would be allowed to apply for nomination under the NCP banner.
However, those accused of oppression, abuse, or links with what he described as fascist forces would not be considered.
He added that after proper scrutiny, leaders from other political parties who wish to join NCP and contest under its banner may also be given the opportunity.
