Presenter Deepti Chowdhury marries academic Mushtaq Ibn Ayub

Television presenter Deepti Chowdhury has tied the knot with Mushtaq Ibn Ayub in a family ceremony held in Dhaka, the presenter confirmed.

The wedding ceremony and aqd took place on Friday at a restaurant in the capital's Banglamotor area in the presence of members of both families.

Deepti said a formal wedding reception would be organized at a later date and that invitations would be extended to everyone.

Her husband, Mushtaq Ibn Ayub, is an assistant professor at the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Dhaka. He obtained his PhD in Oncology from the University of Oxford.

Deepti came into the spotlight in July 2024 following a controversial incident on Channel i's talk show To The Point, where remarks made by former justice A.H.M. Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik sparked widespread discussion on social media. She later identified herself as a member of a freedom fighter's family, drawing support from many quarters.

She currently hosts several programs on Channel i, including To The Point and Straight Cut.
