Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights to Riyadh indefinitely, citing passenger safety after an attack on a Saudi Arabian airport, while it plans to resume services to Dammam from October 21, subject to airport approval.
The airline announced the decision in a press release issued by its public relations department on Saturday, October 17. According to the statement, the resumption of Riyadh-bound flights will be decided once Biman receives further instructions from the airport authorities there, and passengers will be notified of any developments. Meanwhile, flights to Jeddah and Medina continue to operate as normal, allowing travellers to reach Saudi Arabia through those two international airports if necessary.
To accommodate passengers, the airline is operating higher-capacity aircraft on the Medina route through October 18, after which the route will revert to its regular Boeing 787. Moreover, Biman is arranging additional flights to Jeddah in response to heightened demand.
