The Ministry of Public Administration has issued an order appointing 1,702 candidates to various cadres under the 45th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), 10 months after the Public Service Commission (PSC) recommended them for recruitment.

The ministry’s New Appointment Wing issued the order on the night of Wednesday, 14 October. According to the order, the newly appointed officials must report by 1 November to the offices designated by their respective cadre-controlling ministries, unless those ministries issue further instructions. Furthermore, candidates who fail to join by the stipulated date will be deemed unwilling to take up their posts, and their appointment letters will be treated as cancelled.

Moreover, the authorities have reserved the right to amend or revoke any appointment if adverse or contradictory information about a new recruit comes to light after recruitment. Consequently, successful candidates must ensure that their credentials and records withstand scrutiny even after they have joined service.

The PSC published the final results of the 45th BCS examination on 27 November 2025, recommending 1,807 candidates for appointment to various cadres. Nevertheless, the latest order confirms the appointment of only 1,702 of them, leaving 105 recommended candidates unaccounted for.
