Water levels rise above danger mark in 8 points of rivers

Water levels at eight points of seven rivers in the Haor region have crossed the danger level following moderate to heavy rainfall in the country’s northeastern region over the past 24 hours.
The situation was reported in the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre's morning bulletin on Monday.
According to the report, rainfall was recorded at 74 mm in Jaria Jhanjail, Netrokona; 74 mm in Habiganj Sadar; and 61 mm in the Baghan area of Chandpur.
In Sunamganj’s Jagannathpur, the water level of the Noljur River rose by 11 cm and is flowing 40 cm above the danger level.

In Netrokona’s Jaria Jhanjail, the Dhanu-Baulai River rose by 9 cm, remaining 8 cm above the danger mark. In Kalmakanda, the Someshwari River, despite dropping by 14 cm, is still 50 cm above the danger level, while the Bhugai-Kangsha River has fallen by 22 cm but remains 67 cm above the threshold.
In Netrokona Sadar, the Mogra River rose by 5 cm and is now 79 cm above the danger level, while in Atpara it is 27 cm above the danger mark.
In Habiganj’s Ajmiriganj, the Kalni River rose by 15 cm and is 10 cm above the danger level. At the Sutang rail bridge area, the Sutang River rose by 23 cm and is currently flowing 83 cm above the danger level.
The Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre said water levels in rivers in the Sunamganj haor region are rising slowly at a rate of zero to one centimetre per hour.
