Bangladesh is set to tour Nepal for its first-ever bilateral cricket series between the two countries, with a three-match T20I series scheduled for Kathmandu in March 2027, marking an entirely new chapter in cricketing relations between the two nations.

The matches are slated for March 26, 28 and 30, following Nepal's proposal for bilateral cricket cooperation, which the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had been carefully weighing amid the national team's notoriously crowded international schedule. The initiative gained further momentum after Nepal's ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, proposed the T20 series, underscoring its potential to provide much-needed encouragement to communities affected by recent floods and natural disasters in Nepal.

The proposed tour is expected to broaden cricketing cooperation considerably between the two countries, with discussions also extending to exchanges involving men's and women's teams, high-performance programmes, training and technical assistance. Bangladesh and Nepal have previously crossed paths on only two occasions, both in men's T20 World Cup fixtures in 2014 and 2024, yet have never before contested a bilateral series -- a gap this historic tour is finally set to close.
