Bangladesh batter Sharmin Akter has surged 10 places to 35th in the latest ICC women's T20I batting rankings, whereas pacer Marufa Akter has slipped four places in the bowling chart, following their contrasting displays against Pakistan.

The International Cricket Council released its weekly rankings update on Tuesday, September 29, with Sharmin's 46-run knock in Bangladesh's third-place playoff defeat earning her 523 rating points. Meanwhile, Nigar Sultana remains Bangladesh's highest-ranked batter in 20th place with 597 points, whereas Sobhana Mostary has dropped three places to 42nd with 484 points. In the bowling rankings, Marufa conceded 26 runs without taking a wicket in three overs against Pakistan, consequently sliding to 21st with 602 points. Conversely, left-arm spinner Nahida Akter climbed two places to 29th after claiming two wickets for 21 runs in four overs.

At the summit of the bowling chart, India's Shree Charani has set a new world record with 817 rating points, thereby surpassing the 806 that Australia's Megan Schutt attained in 2018. Furthermore, Charani continues to lead the bowling rankings, an achievement that underscores her dominance in the shortest format.

In the other categories, Australia's Beth Mooney remains the top-ranked T20I batter, while West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews retains the No. 1 position among all-rounders. Nevertheless, Bangladesh's mixed fortunes in this update illustrate how a single performance can significantly alter a player's standing, and Sharmin's leap in particular will offer encouragement to a batting line-up seeking greater consistency.
