Bangladesh suffered their second consecutive defeat in the FIFA ASEAN Cup Division One, losing 1-0 to Singapore in their Group A match at Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on Monday, with Harhys Stewart scoring the decisive goal in the 35th minute.

Although Bangladesh showed greater discipline than in their 3-0 defeat to Malaysia, they ultimately failed to find the net. They started brightly and created several opportunities, but Singapore gradually took control. Stewart broke the deadlock with a header from Nur Adam Abdullah's cross, while goalkeeper Mehedi Hasan Srabon made several crucial saves to keep his side in contention.

After the break, Bangladesh pushed for an equaliser, with Shamit Shome missing a clear header and Rakib Hossain testing the Singaporean defence. Nevertheless, the breakthrough never came, leaving the team without a point from two matches and at the bottom of Group A.

They will face hosts Indonesia in their final group-stage match on October 1, with their hopes of advancing now dependent on the remaining results.
