Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has approved a new broadband tariff structure to make high-speed internet more accessible to users across the country.
The decision was announced on Monday (April 27) in a notice issued by BTRC’s Systems and Services Division, aligning with the government’s “One Country, One Rate” policy.
Under the revised plan, ISP Sam Online will offer packages starting from 30 Mbps at Tk 500 per month, going up to 250 Mbps at Tk 3,000. A 100 Mbps package has been capped at Tk 1,000.

BTRC said the pricing has been adjusted proportionately based on bandwidth benchmarks, with service providers required to maintain quality standards. The maximum shared contention ratio for these connections has been set at 1:8.
The regulator added that the move aims to ensure better user experience and a more balanced distribution of internet services nationwide.
