A total of 30 bodies were flown in from Kuwait on a chartered flight operated by Kuwait Airways, landing in the evening at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, according to the expatriate welfare desk at the airport.

In addition, four more bodies - two each from Malaysia and Libya - arrived on separate flights the same day.

Officials said the repatriation had been delayed due to repeated flight cancellations linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which left the bodies stranded in those countries.

According to officials from the Wage Earners’ Welfare Board, the bodies were later brought back through special flight arrangements after regular services were disrupted.

Authorities have since handed over the remains to families, as arrangements were made to ensure their return following the delays.
