A medical team based in Tripoli confirmed on Saturday that one of the deceased individuals has been identified as a Bangladeshi citizen.
The Emergency Medicine and Support Center, operating under Libya’s Health Ministry, said the bodies were recovered over recent days from the Zuwara coastline, located about 117 kilometers west of Tripoli.
According to the agency, 14 of the deceased were buried following proper procedures, while the body of the Bangladeshi national was handed over to his family residing in Tripoli after identification. The identities of the remaining two individuals have not yet been confirmed.

Since the 2011 Libyan Civil War, which led to the fall of longtime ruler Muammar Gaddafi, Libya has become a key transit point for migrants attempting to reach Europe.
Many people from Africa and Asia risk dangerous journeys through deserts and across the Mediterranean Sea in search of better economic opportunities and to escape conflict and poverty.
