Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan sustained a knee injury after slipping and falling during a recent shoot for Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, compelling him to deliver the opening of Wednesday's episode from a seated position.
The 83-year-old actor, who customarily delivers his opening monologue standing at the centre of the stage, told viewers that he had hurt his left knee during the previous day's shoot. Although the injury had made standing difficult, he reassured the audience that it was not serious. Moreover, he continued with the programme and indicated that he would stand while interacting with contestants during the main segments, whereas his unusual introduction immediately caught the attention of viewers accustomed to his traditional standing entrance.
The incident comes amid renewed speculation about Bachchan's future in acting, after he recently used the phrase "wishes to retire" in a blog post. Nevertheless, he subsequently clarified that the remark referred to going to sleep rather than announcing his retirement from acting.

Consequently, fans appear to have little cause for alarm, as Bachchan remains active on television and has upcoming film commitments, including Kalki 2898 AD Part 2. Meanwhile, his determination to carry on hosting despite the mishap has only reinforced his reputation for resilience.
