The bodies of three siblings have been recovered two days after a trawler carrying 13 people capsized in the Meghna River in Sonargaon, Narayanganj, though their father, Helal Uddin, remains unaccounted for.

Fire Service divers and naval police retrieved the bodies from the river near Al Mostofa Factory in Baidyerbazar at around 8 am on Saturday. Meanwhile, eight passengers had managed to swim ashore, while another woman, Rashida, was rescued alive but later declared dead in hospital.

The passengers, travelling from Sreemandi village in Cumilla to a wedding in Mayamayi village, were caught in a storm on Thursday afternoon, which overturned and sank the vessel. A search operation is continuing for Helal Uddin, whose children--Sajib, Samia and young Samin--have now all been recovered.
