Rizvi vows to eliminate rape and violence against women

BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has expressed his firm resolve to eradicate rape, violence against women and every form of crime from society, stressing the pressing need for redoubled efforts to ensure women's empowerment and social security.
Speaking at a programme marking the founding anniversary of the Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal in front of the BNP central office in Naya Paltan on Saturday, Rizvi said the government was actively working to bolster women's empowerment and social protection. He urged leaders and activists of the women's wing to play a meaningful and sustained role in advancing those initiatives.

Rizvi further described the government's Family Card programme as a landmark initiative for women's empowerment, calling on Mohila Dal leaders to help ensure its successful implementation on the ground. Meanwhile, he assured the organisation's activists that they were an integral part of the government by virtue of their contribution and commitment, irrespective of whether they held any formal post.
