Dozens detained at Jasad office over Awami League links

Dhaka Metropolitan Police detained dozens of people from the main office of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) at the GPO intersection in Gulistan on Saturday, amid suspicions that some were affiliated with the banned Awami League, with the detainees taken to a police station around 2:30 pm.
DMP spokesperson and Deputy Commissioner (Media) Md Akter Hossain said police received information that a procession and slogans, including "Joy Bangla", were being held at the Jasad office. Subsequently, Paltan police brought around 30–40 suspected individuals to the station for questioning and verification.

Akter said police were reviewing information obtained during preliminary questioning and would take further action based on the investigation. The operation at the Jasad office, he added, was still underway.
