The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has lowered the price of gold jewellery by up to Tk 1,691 per bhori, including VAT, offering buyers modest relief in the domestic market.

The revised rates took effect at 10 am on Monday, according to a BAJUS notice issued the same day. Under the new structure, a bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold now sells for Tk 229,081, down from Tk 230,772. Meanwhile, 21-carat gold is priced at Tk 218,817 per bhori and 18-carat gold at Tk 187,907, while traditional-method gold has been fixed at Tk 153,498. The decision was taken at a meeting of BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring.
