Truck-auto-rickshaw collision kills four in Lalmonirhat

Four people have been killed and at least seven injured after a truck collided head-on with a passenger auto-rickshaw in Burimari, Lalmonirhat, on Monday morning. The accident occurred around the Ghunti area of Burimari Union on the Burimari-Lalmonirhat highway.

According to police and locals, the auto-rickshaw was travelling towards Patgram from Burimari Land Port when the truck, heading in the opposite direction, reportedly lost control due to a mechanical failure. Subsequently, the truck crashed into a roadside shop and crushed the auto-rickshaw, killing two people on the spot.

Three more victims later died while undergoing treatment at Patgram Upazila Health Complex and Rangpur Medical College Hospital, raising the death toll to four. Meanwhile, several critically injured passengers were transferred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, while others were receiving treatment locally. The identities of the victims had not yet been confirmed.
