Sheikh Ibrahim bin Adel Al-Madani, a veteran muezzin of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, passed away on Monday (September 21) around the time of Fajr prayers, according to an announcement by the official Haramain Sharifain account on X.
Sheikh Ibrahim was among the muezzins assigned to the Mukabbiriyah of the Grand Mosque, where they not only deliver the call to prayer but also relay the imam's takbirs to worshippers when necessary. Notably, he was particularly renowned for delivering the Fajr adhan and takbirs. Furthermore, the Grand Mosque employs 24 regular muezzins, six of whom are assigned daily to call the five daily prayers and the initial Fajr adhan.
Born in Madinah in 1397 AH, Sheikh Ibrahim memorised the Holy Quran within his family and embarked on his career as a muezzin at the age of 15. Subsequently, he served at Madinah's Al-Maddah Mosque in 1428 AH before being formally appointed to the Grand Mosque in 1439 AH.

Moreover, his upbringing in Madinah and frequent visits to Makkah with his father exposed him to both the Madani and Makki traditions of the adhan. He further honed these under Sheikh Abdul Latif Mulla, a former muezzin of the Grand Mosque.
