Saudi Arabia has introduced new requirements for holders of multiple-entry Umrah visas, making it mandatory for pilgrims to book an approved service package and obtain a fresh Umrah permit before each entry into the country. Although the visa remains valid for 365 days from the date of issuance, holders can stay in Saudi Arabia for a maximum of 90 days in total throughout its validity period, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, as reported by Gulf News on Sunday.

Under the new rules, multiple-entry Umrah visa holders must purchase a service package from an approved Umrah service provider through the Nusuk platform before every trip. They must also obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk app before travelling. The service package for each visit cannot extend beyond the visa's remaining validity period, while the date specified on the Umrah permit must correspond with the date stated in the service package. For a pilgrim's first Umrah, the process begins with purchasing an approved service package through Nusuk, followed by the visa application and other required procedures.

The ministry said the new system is intended to provide pilgrims with greater flexibility in scheduling their Umrah journeys while ensuring compliance with entry and stay requirements. Upon arrival, the visa holder's entry will be recorded, and their departure will subsequently be updated to track the number of days used from the cumulative 90-day stay allowance. Therefore, holding a one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa does not permit unrestricted entry into Saudi Arabia; pilgrims must complete the required service booking and obtain a new Umrah permit before each visit.
