The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has approved the administrative order paving the way for 14,384 recommended assistant teachers to join government primary schools by October 1. The order, signed by Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon on Thursday, clears the last remaining administrative hurdle in the recruitment process.

The Directorate of Primary Education plans to commence the joining process in the final week of September, contingent upon receiving the ministry's formal instructions. Subsequently, the recommended teachers will be posted to schools after joining; they will not, however, be assigned classroom duties until completing their professional training, which is expected to last two months.

The 14,384 candidates were ultimately selected following written and viva voce examinations held under the 2025 assistant teacher recruitment process across 61 districts, excluding the three hill districts. Although the recruitment process was completed earlier this year, their appointment was delayed amid investigations and administrative procedures. Meanwhile, the government had already set October 1 as their joining date and October 4 for their subsequent posting to schools.
