Three more suspected measles deaths push toll to 1,099

Three more people have died with suspected measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, raising the combined death toll from confirmed and suspected cases to 1,099 since March 15, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the latest deaths, two were reported in Chattogram Division and one in Sylhet Division. All were recorded as suspected measles-related fatalities, while the number of confirmed measles deaths remained at 101. Meanwhile, 1,310 new cases of measles and measles-like symptoms were reported during the same period.

From March 15 to September 28, a total of 189,255 people developed measles-like symptoms, while laboratory tests confirmed the disease in 21,308 cases. During this period, 167,469 patients with suspected symptoms were hospitalised, of whom 160,705 have since been discharged. Consequently, the latest figures indicate that the outbreak continues to exert sustained pressure on the country's healthcare system.
