Three children died with suspected measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while no confirmed measles deaths were reported during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.

The deaths were reported in Dhaka, Khulna and Cumilla, one in each district, between 8 am Friday and 8 am Saturday. Consequently, the cumulative death toll from confirmed measles and suspected cases has risen to 1,087 this year, comprising 101 confirmed measles deaths and 986 deaths involving measles symptoms.

During the same period, 84 new confirmed measles cases were detected, bringing the nationwide total to 21,099. In addition, 980 people developed suspected measles symptoms, taking the cumulative number of suspected infections to 186,813.
