The United States has granted a zero-tariff rate on certain specialised pharmaceutical products and associated ingredients imported from Bangladesh and 19 other countries and regions, according to a notice published by the US Department of Commerce in the Federal Register.
The exemption covers medicines for orphan or rare diseases, nuclear medicines, plasma-derived therapies, fertility drugs, cell and gene therapies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), certain medical countermeasures and animal-health products, along with associated pharmaceutical ingredients. This measure follows Washington's April 2, 2026 proclamation, which had imposed tariffs on certain pharmaceutical products and ingredients.

According to the Commerce Department, eligible products from these jurisdictions can receive the zero-tariff rate provided the relevant trade and security framework requirements are met.
