2 musicians killed in Cox`s Bazar road crash

Renowned musicians, percussionists Hanif Ahammed and Partha Guha were killed in a road accident early Saturday on their way to a show in Cox`s Bazar.

The accident took place in Chattogram`s Mishorai, when a lorry hit their microbus from the opposite direction.

Partha died on the spot, Hanif was declared dead in Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

Hanif`s brother, noted drummer Manik Ahmed, confirmed the news to The Daily Star.

The duo had just finished a show in Chandpur, where eminent artistes Imran and Kona also performed. In the accident, artistes Beauty Khan, Nandan, Pappu and Tawhid were also critically injured.

The deaths have brought an air of mourning in the musical fraternity.
