Nigeria-based online marketplace Jiji has acquired Bikroy.com, one of Bangladesh’s foremost online classified platforms, marking a significant stride in its expansion into the South Asian market.

Sources within Bikroy.com have confirmed the acquisition, with an official announcement anticipated soon. Jiji, which launched operations in Bangladesh in March 2025, is pursuing a broader strategy of growing its presence beyond Africa.

Currently, Jiji operates in multiple African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. The company reports over 90 million active annual users globally, facilitating nearly $70 billion in transactions yearly.

Established in 2012, Bikroy.com is a leading classified platform in Bangladesh, known for its strong user base in categories such as mobile phones, electronics, vehicles, and real estate.

According to sources, the platform will continue to operate under the “Bikroy.com” brand for the foreseeable future, with no immediate plans to rebrand, ensuring continuity for its existing customer base.

This acquisition underscores Jiji’s ambition to leverage Bikroy’s market presence and accelerate growth in Bangladesh’s rapidly evolving digital commerce sector.
