Jagannath University (JnU) authorities have served show-cause notices to four of its students for allegedly smoking marijuana on campus.

Jagannath University (JnU) authorities have served show-cause notices to four of its students for allegedly smoking marijuana on campus.

The notice, signed by JnU proctor Mostafa Kamal, asked them to give explanation about their drug taking by October 10.

However, the identities of the students couldn’t be confirmed immediately.

According to the notice, the four students were caught red-handed while taking marijuana on the campus.

“After primary investigation, the allegations against the accused were found upright and they are similar to the anti-disciplinary activities of the university,” the notice said.

Earlier, on Wednesday, the proctorial body of the university caught them from the store room, adjacent to the university gate 2 while conducting a regular drive on the campus.

When the proctorial body forced into the store room they found six students taking marijuana and became able to capture two of them.

However, the rest four managed to escape the spot.

Assistant proctors of the JnU Dr Md Rezaul Hossain and Shah Md Ariful Abed were present during the drives.
