Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said it is not natural gas rather it is imported liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) which will be bottled here and then sold to India.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said it is not natural gas rather it is imported liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) which will be bottled here and then sold to India.

“Bangladesh is importing LPG from abroad. We will export the LPG to India after bottling and meeting the demands of Bangladeshi people,” she said

The premier came up with the assertion while addressing media at Ganobhaban in the capital.

A vested quarter has been criticising the government saying that Bangladesh is going to sell natural gas to India, she said.

A press conference is being held at her official residence Gono Bhaban in Dhaka at 3:30pm, which has been arranged to brief media about the outcome of her recent official visits to USA and India.

She assured that maximum punishment will be meted out to those involved in the brutal killing of BUET student Abrar Fahad.

Sheikh Hasina also questioned the justification of the movement by students when the government is taking action against the offenders.

“Why’s this movement? The trial (of the offenders) must be held. It’s necessary to feel the pain of a mother or a father who lost their children. I understand it as I lost all my father, mother and bothers,” she said.

She further said, “He (Abrar) was son of a general family. What is the reason behind the brutal and dangerous act like picking up and beating such a brilliant student?”

She added; “So, we’re taking action against them. All kinds of highest punishment will be given to them and there’s no doubt in it.”
