Bangladesh Coastguard members have arrested eight Myanmar citizens with two lakh pieces of yaba pills from deep sea near Saint Martin’s in Cox’s Bazar on Friday.

Bangladesh Coastguard members have arrested eight Myanmar citizens with two lakh pieces of yaba pills from deep sea near Saint Martin’s in Cox’s Bazar on Friday.

The detainees were identified as Doila (20), Robi Alam (17), Alam (25), Shafiqul (18), Noor (18), Nur Alam (30), Ali Amjad (20) and Nurul Amin (35).

They were detained at around 2:30 am on Friday night from South-Eastern Sea of the Island with fishing trawler.

Lieutenant Sohel Rana, station commander of coast guard in St Martin's Island, said all the detained Rohingyas from Myanmar's Maungdaw.

Acting on a tip-off, coast guard members conducted a drive in the South-East area of the Bay and recovered the large consignment of the crazy pills, he said.
