Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe, reach Tri-nation T20 final

In response to 176-run target, Zimbabwe lost all wickets to reach 136 runs in stipulated 20 overs. Mutumbami scored the highest 54 runs off 32 balls while KM Jarvis and captain Hamilton Masakadza took 27 and 25 runs respectively.

 

Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by 39 runs in their third game of the ongoing Tri-Nation T20 Series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday.

In response to 176-run target, Zimbabwe lost all wickets to reach 136 runs in stipulated 20 overs. Mutumbami scored the highest 54 runs off 32 balls while KM Jarvis and captain Hamilton Masakadza took 27 and 25 runs respectively.

Shafiul Islam bagged three wickets while Mustafizur Rahman and Aminul islam picked up two wickets each. Shakib Al Hasan and Saifuddin got one wicket each.

Earlier Zimbabwe won the toss and sent Tigers to bat first.  Bangladesh posted their highest-ever T20I total against Zimbabwe-175 for five.

Mahmudullah’s 62 runs off 41 balls featuring one four and five big sixes helped the Tigers score the challenging total.

Liton added 38 off 22 with four fours and two sixes while Mushfqur 32 off 26 balls with three fours and one six. Mahmudullah fell for 62 off 41 with one four and five sixes in the last over off Jarvis.

Shafiul returned to the T20I XI after a break of two years while Shanto and Aminul got the T20Is cap for the first time.
