Protesters attacked at DU during anti-graft demo

The students under the banner of “students against corruption and forgery” were going to besiege the dean office at around 12:30 pm.

 

A group of students, who have been staging protest against illegal enrollment of former and incumbent Chhatra League leaders at Dhaka University, were attacked when they went to lay siege to the dean office of the Business Faculty (evening program) of Dhaka University on Wednesday afternoon.

The students under the banner of “students against corruption and forgery” were going to besiege the dean office at around 12:30 pm.

During the attack, a student suffered an injury below his eye.

The injured was identified as Asif, a second-year student of Language Sciences.

The students were staging the protest demanding resignation of university vice-chancellor and the dean of the Business Faculty for allegedly giving preferential treatment to Chhatra League leaders, who were admitted to the masters of tax management (MTM) course under the banking and insurance department.
