Rajshahi: Impress Telefilm’s Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar, singer Ferdous Ara and Farzana Brownia, escaped a helicopter crash at Godagari upazila in the district on Thursday.

The private helicopter S2 AHW took off with six people, including Sagar, Ferdous Ara, and Farzana Brownia, around 2:30pm, but crashed shortly after takeoff, said a competent source of the incident.

Officer-in-charge of Godagari Police Station Jahangir Alam told newsbangladesh.com that a prize distribution program of Channel I’s ‘Swarna Kishori’ was held at Anwara Fahim Ziauddin Pilot High School. Channel I Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar, Singer Ferdous Ara and Chairperson of Swarna Kishori Farzana Brownia attended the function.

They left the function for Dhaka by the private chopper. “The chopper crashed after it flew 60 feet high and they were injured. On information, police and fire fighters reached to spot,” said the pilot of the chopper.

The injured were rushed to a hospital of the upazila and they were given primary treatment, the OC added.
