Cox’s Bazar: At least four people were killed and eight others injured as a passengers’ bus and a human hauler collided head on at Notun Rastarmatha area of Boroitala under Chakaria upazila on Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong highway in the district on Tuesday morning.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Confirming the incident, Banichhara highway police camp officer in-charge Nur Alam said, the accident happened around 10:15 am when a Dhaka-bound passengers’ bus collided head-on with the human hauler in the area, leaving four passengers of the human hauler including its driver dead on the spot and eight others injured.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the injured and rushed them to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.

Police ceased the bus, he added.
