3 'robbers' killed in Dhamrai 'gunfight' - National

Savar, Dhaka: Three suspected robbers were killed in a ‘gunfight’ between Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and their cohorts at Kelia area of Dhamrai on Tuesday afternoon.

The identities of the diseased could not be known immediately.

Second in command of RAB-2 Major Mohammad Ali said, action on a tip-off, some highway robbers were planning to commit robbery in Kelia area they launched a drive in the area.

Sensing the presence of RAB members the robbers fired gunshots on them forcing them to retaliate, triggering a gunfight, he said.

At one stage, the gang members fled the scene and three bodies were found lying in the area, he said.

Law enforcers also recovered three foreign pistols and locally made weapons from the spot.
