Narayanganj: A man was killed in what police claimed to be a gunfight in front of his house at Goalia Khal area of Golachipa in the district town early Friday.

The deceased was identified has Moniruzzaman Shahin, 50, alias Banduk Shahin. He was a listed terrorist.

District additional superintendent of police Md Sharfuddin said police conducted a raid in the area early Friday to arrest Shahin.

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, his accomplices started shooting at them prompting police to retaliate. At some point Shahin killed in shooting.

Detective Branch officer in-charge Mahbubur Rahman and sub-inspector Mizan were injured in the shooting, he added.

He was accused in several cases including murder, extortion and drug with different thanas, he said.
